You will now gain control of Rinoa. There is a Save Point on the left, so save your game. Now you will have to do some climbing; head to the first crate and press Circle. Climb up until you reach the ledge and head left.

In this area, use the ladder located on the left side of the building to head up onto the roof, enabling Rinoa to reach the building. There is a chair in front of you with someone sitting in it, so proceed to take a closer look... Ka-Boom! Rinoa's injured by Edea's magic and she is then raised into mid-air... followed by this FMV.

Edea's hair magically shortens to reveal her beak-shaped mask. Rinoa rises to her feet, while Edea passes through the door infront of her to deliver a speech to her people. Rinoa is moving forward too, looking strangely under the control of Edea....

Edea talks for a while ('Stinking... Vile, stupid people'...). She turns to the president, who is dumb-founded by what she is saying, and summons a ball of energy to strike and knock him dead.

Meanwhile, Squall and Irvine spot Rinoa on the balcony in a trance-like state. Edea proceeds to the hall and raises her hand, bringing life to two stone statues of gargoyles to attack Rinoa!

** FMV **
A statue of Lizard-Lion structure suddenly comes alive, forcing their way out of its former place of rest, and suddenly turning their attention to Rinoa, who has just awoken from her trance.

Irvine insists that they help Rinoa, but Squall, in his typically cold-hearted military fashion simply responds: 'The parade hasn't started yet. The gate has yet to open...'. The screen switches back to Quistis and her company who are still trapped! You have to find a way to get so that they can complete their task.

Look closely on the painting on the right - it's a statue of girl holding a glass. On the extreme top-left hand corner is also a statue of a girl. Your task is to simply make it look the same; get a glass from the cabinet next to the statue and press Circle to place it on the statue, revealing a secret door! Enter the passage and head down into the darkness. There is a Save Point, so save your game. To climb items such as ladders, press Circle and up and down to move.

Now go down the ladder and onto the wooden platform next to the gear and press Circle, Quistis and her company will be able to reach the other side of the basement. Head up and you will have another FMV sequence...

** FMV **
screenshot Squall and Irvine will view the opening of the gate.. there you will see dancers performing and crowds watching and cheering. Next, a huge vehicle with Edea on a chair and Seifer next to her.

Now you will be able to move during intervals. Just follow Irvine and sneek into the building. Equip Irvine with G.F's as everything will be reset. Now climb up the crates, following Rinoa's earlier path. Use the Save Point if needed.

After you have climbed onto the roof, try to move Squall towards the edge of the main building. Head for the door. You will find the President lying dead on the ground. In the next area, you will find a hatch located on the right of the red carpet. Ignore and keep going. There you will see the unarmed Rinoa being attacked by those two gargoyles... save Rinoa!

Iguion [2]
LV 12 HP 944 Mug 6x G-Returner AP 20
Draw Win
Cure*, Esuna, Petrify, Carbuncle 8x G-Returner
Weaknesses & Immunities Attacks
Weak: Earth, Holy; No effect: Fire, Poison (bite), (whip), Magma Breath [may cause Petrify]
In this battle, you can only have Squall and Irvine in your party. Use your Guardian Force's if necessary. If low on HP, draw some healing spells and this should not be tough. Beware of the BOSS' Magma Breath as it could turn one of your members into stone. To counter with that status disorder, use Esuna which can be drawn. Remember to draw Carbuncle from them!

After defeating the monsters, Squall will try to help Rinoa. Notice that there is something wrong with Rinoa; she is very afraid and hates fighting on her own. Exit from this area and head for the hatch that you ignored earlier. Examine it and you will reach the destination which the Colonel told you to head to. Now examine the rifle that's on the left of entrance and you will have a short event. Meanwhile, Quistis and company are in trouble...
